The Workforce One Investment Board of Southwest Ohio recently announced the winners for the Investing in People Awards. Two Clermont companies were recognized for their strong commitment to workforce development. The two award winning companies are Melink Corporation, nominated by the Clermont County Office of Economic Development, and Innerwood & Company, nominated by Workforce One of Clermont County.
Melink's interest in energy and sustainability has lead it to creating one of Clermont County's most pleasant work environments for its employees. Located in Union Township, the features of their LEED Gold Certified headquarters include curtain walls of glass and low profile work stations to allow employees to enjoy an abundance of natural light. Furthermore the windows are operable for individual control of fresh air and temperature. Studies have shown that such features improve employee health and productivity. The high value and consideration that Melink has shown for its employees through these green initiatives are undoubtedly part of the reason that the company has been able to attract and retain high quality employees and sustain double-digit growth for the past several years.
Innerwood & Company in Miami Township, was featured in our August newsletter for the company being the sole manufacturer of Arthur Lauer teak outdoor furniture. Nominator Cathy Sahlfeld, Business Representative with Clermont County's Workforce One, was impressed with Innerwood's creative and innovative approach to continue to grow its CNC machining operation, even through these challenging economic times. To stay competitive in the global economy, Innerwood executives are strong advocates for new technology and provide extensive training to its employees.
Congratulations to Melink Corporation and Innerwood & Company on this achievement!
